2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

3. Information Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data. We never have and never will sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • As you direct: Your profile information is shared according to your privacy settings (Public, Buddies Only, or Private)
  • Service providers: We may share data with hosting providers and infrastructure services necessary to operate the Platform. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Rock-Out, our users, or the public
4. Message Privacy

Rock-Out takes message privacy seriously:

  • Encryption at Rest: Messages are encrypted before being stored in our database using industry-standard encryption methods
  • Server-Side Encryption: Messages are encrypted server-side. This is not end-to-end encryption (E2E) — the Platform has the technical ability to decrypt messages on the server
  • Access Limitations: The Platform may access message content only if required by law, court order, or to investigate reported content that violates our Terms of Service
  • Limited Retention: Messages are subject to conversation limits and may be automatically cleaned up over time
5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
  • Password hashing using secure, industry-standard algorithms (passwords are never stored in plain text)
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest, including messages and age verification records
  • Rate limiting and account lockout protections against brute-force attacks

No system is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

6. Data Retention
  • Account Data: Your profile information and content are retained for as long as your account is active
  • Analytics Data: Usage and analytics data is cleaned after 90 days
  • Messages: Messages are subject to conversation limits and retention policies as described in our messaging features
  • Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, all associated personal data, content, connections, and interactions are permanently removed
7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and update your personal information at any time through your profile and account settings
  • Control your privacy settings to determine who can view your profile, send you messages, and connect with you
  • Delete your account and all associated data permanently through your account settings
  • Request information about the data we hold about you by contacting us
  • Opt out of non-essential communications
8. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights
We do NOT sell personal information. Rock-Out does not sell, and has never sold, the personal information of its users. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us through the Platform or use the account deletion feature in your account settings.
9. Cookies and Tracking
  • Session Cookies: We use session cookies that are essential for login functionality and maintaining your authenticated session. These cookies expire when you close your browser or log out.
  • No Third-Party Tracking: We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics services that track you across other websites
  • No Advertising Cookies: We do not use advertising cookies or serve targeted ads. Rock-Out is a free, ad-free platform.
10. Children's Privacy

Rock-Out is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will take steps to delete that information and terminate the associated account immediately.
